8th ANNUAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Submissions for 2011 festival must be post-marked by July 1, 2011.

The SAN GABRIEL VALLEY SHORT FILM FESTIVAL began in 2003 by the film industry in the Alhambra and San Gabriel community. Each year the festival has grown with the number of films and audience members.

The first years of the festival played to a full house at The Shop Theater in Alhambra which seated a max of 45. In recent years The Rialto Theater seating 600 people has admirably accomodated the festival in South Pasadena.

San Gabriel Valley Film Festival covers east of the city of Los Angeles, north of Puente Hills, south of San Gabriel Mountains and west of the Inland Empire.

The San Gabriel Valley Film Festival has been a host to many up and coming film directors, producers and actors. The festival encourages films that are made in the San Gabriel Valley and filmmakers, actors and crew members originally from the area to submit their films to the festival.

In addition to the public showings of the festival films there is a networking party where future fimmakers may ask questions and discuss their projects to to the festival's guest speakers as well as other people in the industry.

Former guest speakers and attendees include employees from Lions Gate Films, Warner Brother Studios, Sony Pictures and Universal.
